Lots to choose from. Some of the ones I have done : Mam Tor circuit (could start from Hope) fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1793229 Derwent Edge fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1793502 Over to Kinder fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1793340 Stanage fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1793501 White Edge fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1793503 Win Hill (although we started from Hathersage, the river stretch is good) fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1793428 The Monsal Trail is well worth doing (walk, bike or run) but a bit of a drive from Hope. (well, about 15 miles) But plenty more all round, depending what you want Good luck with the weather |

There's the Tissington Trial sustrans.org.uk Which joins up with the High Peak trail sustrans.org.uk If the weather isn't great there's a walk around the Derwent reservoirs, which is low level. letsgopeakdistrict.co.uk The Pennine way starts from Edale. Not suggesting you do the whole thing though... (Hope is on the Sheffield Manchster line. If you don't fancy driving there's a decentish stopping service that runs along the valley with stops at Edale, Bamford, Hathersage and Grindleford.) |

Head to Castleton (by bus maybe as this is relatively flat although the low paths that eventually pass behind Losehill Hall YHA and bring you by the Hollywood centre are a nice walking route) then up Cavedale then past Rowter Farm, up to Mam Tor, along the Ridge to Lose Hill, then decend either direct to Hope (this is um's Mam Tor Circuit above) or make your way over to Win Hill for a bit more mileage & climbing. Another one would be up to Mam Tor then along Rushup Edge past Lords Seat, then take the path to Brown Knoll before dropping into Edale. Climb back over the ridge via Hollins Cross or Back Tor or upto Lose Hill & back to Hope Enjoy! |
