We never made it to Cannock, not strictly true as I ran 8.5 miles but I was home 90 mins before parkrun started.

9am is just so late in the day and life has moved on.

Frimley Lodge today to meet up with all my old parkrun friends (it was my first home parkrun) and celebrate a friend's 500th run. He had also done over 500 volunteer days as well, one of only 3 in the world to have both milestones.

It was a lovely event with lots of treats after. Prosecco and mini pizzas :-)

LOL CW - you will probably beat me, not sure how many I have done but I've been over 400 for a while and a look back to 2019 says I even with time I don't run more than 1 in 2.

Back in 2006 we didnt track all the volunteer days we just made the events happen. However there are definitely people out there who still get what parkrun is about. (Having a home event and helping out as well as running yourself)

I am hoping that we will engage more with Cannock as it is a good run, the atmosphere is pleasant and now we are getting settled in the area I hope we will have more time.

I'm visiting friends in Conwy at the weekend and currently trying to see if they would be up for parkrun on Saturday...

That would be nice Gobi. And it's a good way to meet new runners and clubs in the area.
CW, Conwy sounds good, hopefully there's a nice coastal run there.

GH - I'm just wary these days, my partner being a novice runner has pulled me back in a little in recent years(until Covid) but I'm from a different time and sometimes just say it like it is which upsets people :-)

I did enjoy my return to parkrun last Saturday. I think going somewhere where I *didn't* meet a lot of people I know, and so could just enjoy some quality time with son1 before the run and then afterwards sitting in the sunshine with a cup of tea and a flapjack, helped me to feel more comfortable than I'd have been in a big crowd.

Also, having stood down from the core team and in effect 'distanced' myself has helped me to reconnect with the original, simpler feel of parkrun - you may find the same, Gobi.
