Actually ketamine would sort the pain out. ANd you would go fast too because the giant spiders that would be chasing you can really motor.

Jonny, when u say ibo and par together what dose? Normal dose of each?

I have found some 'extra power' painkillers in cupboard - par, aspirin and caffeine. Where do they fit in? They have less para than a normal dose but with the added aspirin

1g para, 400/600 ibuprofen.

Para four times a day, ibuprofen three times a day. The benefit of 600mg Ibuprofen over 400mg ibuprofen is debatable.

Some find it easier to take 400mg, four times a day because then you take all your pills at once rather than working two separate dosing schedules. (I do this, I have no memory and usually forget to take the brufen).

The extra power things are usually marketing crap. The caffeine helps a bit. They charge ten times as much as the drugs are worth for a shiny box and some 'patented highly effecive drug delivery formula'-- bollocks!

I would recommend cheap, own brand para and brufen. Have them with a cup of coffee and there is nothing in the 'extra power' that you havent had.

Aspirin would do the same as brufen, but with a poor side effect profile and is probably no more effective.

The extra power were telco own at about 50 p a box

Would 1 g par with 600 ibu half an out before start then again 4 hours later be ok ? I will take around 4.5 hours I think so 1 dose might not be enough. I will not be taking any fri or sat as no running.

Half an hour before sounds about right. Maybe earlier if you are not on an empty stomach.

Generally most painkillers will be more effective if you take them regularly, rather than letting any pain build up. This is particularly true for the anti-inflammatories (brufen) assuming that there is an inflammatory process to deal with- which it sounds like there is, but this will increase the risk of side effects (most notably gastritis).

I am not sure whether you are in pain at rest though.

I am not sure that dosing during the race would be necessary, the half hour wont make any difference, and absorption of the drug will be very limited whilst you are running. Prolonged presence of brufen in the stomach (because that is where it will sit) just increases the chances of stomach upset.
