Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

I ran my first MP session today ( delayed from Sunday). 16 miles with 8 at Marathon Pace ( 7.10). I wasn't looking forward to it but it really wasn't so bad. It felt good to be running fast outsdie again, off the treadmill and not scared of slipping on the ice

ThAts a great effort soapy well done. I need to get one like that now the toads are becoming runnable again.

Midweek medium long run of 13 fir me today brought forward as it wad easier time wise to do it today. Managed a bit more pace than I have had with 7.34mm Nd also the beats per mile were down below 1200 which was pleasing

8.5 miles today. Felt good and was off road and hilly down in Bristol. HR still very high (10-15bpm) too high. Managed a couple of miles at sub-7mm pace when someone caught me and ran off quite quickly. Nice to be able to pick ulntge pace easily and reel him back in.

Plan for the week is for an MLR tomorrow, then see how I feel on Thursday for an LT session.

Pretty much keeping to plan this week. 6m recovery on Monday, 11m yesterday and 13m today. Felt a bit off yesterday and thought I was getting the cold but HR back to normal today, so maybe just the hilly route and tired from Sunday long run. Recovery tomorrow before an LT session on Friday which I'm looking forward to as I'm heading down to visit family in the South West of Scotland for New Year and they're snow free so I should be able to get a decent effort in. Then weekend plan will be dependent on my alcohol intake and social plans!

Richy, my week matches yours more or less, just switch the order of the 11 and 13.

Ice is shifting, ive lifted the pace a bit and partly look forward to some LT miles on Friday but in another way worry that I may not hit the pace I want !

work was quiet today, thinking of taking Friday off which will also mean I can run Friday in the daylight

Good stuff Baz, hope the ongoing thaw will help with your LT session tomorrow. I arrived in Stranraer this afternoon to find I may have social commitments tonight so rather than risk having to run an LT sesh tomorrow with potentially a few beers in me tonight I took the lesser of 2 evils and brought it forward to today. Not ideal given mileage over last 2 days so I was surprised to have a really positive run.

Set off fairly easy and did 3m then kicked into a 5m tempo section and felt as strong as I have in months, followed by a couple of easy miles. Splits were: 7.16 7.21 7.26 6.25 6.24 6.20 6.17 6.07 7.11 7.11. As I say, I'm a tad surprised but pretty pleased with the tempo effort which was controlled and looking back verging on progressive.

Matt - hope you're rid of the lurgy now and runs are feeling better.

SOAPM - great getting that MP effort under your belt this early in the campaign.

Richy: Nice tempo session.

Mrs Jigs: Hope Jigs isn't too badly hurt.

No chance of an LT session yet. HR still so high that I'd be running at barely sub-8mm at HM effort. Did 6 miles yesterday and 12 today. Did an impromptu max HR session today running up a steep valley. Hit 188 bpm at 7:51mm. Possibly not the wisest thing to do.
