Don't worry! Hmm, it's about 3.3 miles on the road to the start though you could go along the river if you want a more off-road route, and not much further. So it depends how much running you want that day, and whether you want a PB!

Okay great - thats fine I'd usually do about 6 miles in total and if going for a pb (depends on the week) then I'd need to do at least 4-5 miles wu :)

More of a Tortoise
excited about this although as an Abingdon regular I probably won't be defecting ;)

Curly: what makes you say you can't get to Abingdon from Central London on public transport? There is a bus from Oxford station to Abingdon town centre that leaves 8:10 so it would be an early start but doable..?

Or even quicker for Abingdon - get the train to Didcot Parkway and then get the bus to Abingdon. There's a 7:49 bus arriving at 8:10.

Or just ask nicely and we'll pick you up from Didcot on the way to Abingdon (seriously, if you have a date in mind, let us know and we will pick you up if we can make it on that day)

Oxford should be interesting. Looking forward to running it at some point.

News: parkrun page and course details now online. See a map of the route with markers for 1k, 2k, 3k, 4k and yes of course 5k. All in colour (if you can see in colour) now. Did I say it was online?

I will be heading home for Christmas (grew-up in Thame), so if there is one on Christmas Eve then I'll likely be there :-) Hope the first one goes well!

Great Herman - yes, it'll be running on Christmas Eve. I'm sure people would still be running parkruns even as an asteroid heads towards the doomed earth.
