I have had stuff stopped at customs a couple of times: they seem particularly keen on running clothes and shoes. if it is over £15 you will have to pay the VAT on the whole lot if its been stopped. You should get a card through the door if that's what has happened. Here's a link

customs.hmrc.gov.uk

If USPS is US Postal Service, rather than a typo for UPS, though, then you may not get it at all, because that is the US domestic carrier and people don't normallly use them for international deliveries. If it was just posted with US domestic postage on it, it will have been returned to the sender.

No card through the door yet... I am going to wait 'til Monday 'cause that's when eBay says is a realistic timeframe for it to arrive by...

USPS is the U.S postal service...

Return to sender? Address unknown... no such person, no such zone ;-)

Also, just tried going on the USPS website to send them an e-mail and all I have is this crappy automated form that says things like:

'I have not received my mail because there was a dog on site'

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH.

If you've got a timeframe, and you're still within it, what are you worried about?

my experience with shipping stuff from the US is that is not worth the hassle. You get to pay duty when the stuff comes in, then you have to add a fee from post office and all put together is a right nigthmare and expense!

Because the one from Hong Kong came much quicker so now I'm a bit paranoid

If this turns out badly, I will have learned my lesson at least :-)
