Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Nothing prepares you for the offence you feel the first time someone offers you their seat on a bus 😢

I think that the first time I was offered a seat on a bus I was 23. In Belgium. (I think it was due to my large rucksack, rather than age. But it was by a schoolgirl.)

Cross country race photos today. I really looked the old bloke amongst a pack of young pups. The ‘young pups’ however were 40 years olds, the actual real young pups were long gone…😀😀

When you completely understand and laugh at this joke:

I finally did it!

I bought a new pair of shoes with memory foam insoles

No more forgetting why I walked into the kitchen

I stopped taking glucosamine about a week ago as I thought the doctors diagnosis of mild arthritis a year or two ago was probably wrong now that I'm running at a level never previously attained. Turns out the b*^%ard was right. I started taking glucosamine again today. Bugger!!

MarkJ Interesting? I've been thinking about taking glucosamine as my arthritis is really getting me down, but wasn't convinced of its efficacy. Maybe it's worth a try after all 🤔

stilldreaming I take a glucosamine and chondroitin supplement. I want totally convinced at first and even my GP said it hadn't been the game changer they thought it would be. But I'd say it's definitely made an improvement but best in mind, my ankle ache was only very mild. So I obviously can't vouch for differing levels of severity. With a punt to rule it in it out though, once you've checked with your GP, of course.

Glucosamine has the merit of being harmless, unlike some other interventions for osteoarthritis.
