Yes, it is how most farmers are around here. I often talk to them while out and about. What I admire most is they never take anything for granted and that includes the world around them. Nature, the changing seasons, this valley. I too feel on top of the world, especially on the Black Hill!

I saw that yesterday and thought of this book as well. It seems completely foreign to me but it's heartening to know that people can be happy in very different ways to my life.

I loved that Guardian link, although I couldn't have lived my life that way. But I wonder: how does he eat that one onion? Does he fry it (and maybe fry the egg as well)? Boil it? Or - horrors - just munch his way through it raw like an apple? If the latter, no wonder he's never married. |
