If you fancy doing the whole thing in one go here's a 'south to north' route - http://www.fetcheveryone.com/route-1805257 - and the write up of my attempt - https://www.fetcheveryone.com/blog/30204/2019/9#blog397734. The scenery was amazing - but so many hills...

Great write-up EdJ. I think I'd probably aim to do it in 7 days rather than one weekend :-)

SteveC - have you blogged about running along the path anywhere?

Thanks for that Ed! We don't move anywhere near that fast. We came down int the summer when it was exceedingly wet at the south end - 2012.

No I haven't blogged about that. We've been all round Wales and have tracks for most of it, but only photos apart from that, I regret to say. Currently looking at Chepstow to Minehead to link up the SWCP, maybe next July or maybe Easter. I would like to follow up this Routes thingy as we have tracks for quite a few more paths that we have run-hiked over the last few years.

Looks like no-one logged any other routes between you logging yours, so they have consecutive id's, so simply by incrementing the value at the end by one, I can see them all, thus:

fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1818996
fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1818997
fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1818998
fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1818999
fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1819000
fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1819001
fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1819002
fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1819003
fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1819004
fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1819005
fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1819006
fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1819007

Did you do it all on consecutive days, SteveC? Was this supported, or did you run with a backpack?

Wow, i didn't think of that. I had thought of posting the first in a series in future, because if you look at the end of one you usually find the next quite easily on the Fetch map, but ideally there would be a better search function.

I have quite a lot more and I have been spending a few days converting runs into courses. In early days we carried bags ourselves when we were walkers, e.g., Pembs CP. Later on, as we gradually completed the Wales CP in a few two- or three-week holidays, we became runners or walk-runners and evolved to having a day bag and a travel company to move the main bags and book accommodation. I think that is what we did for OD. Yes, they are all consecutive days as we found a rest day didn’t really do much. If you want to know the company we used for OD my Mrs probably has a record.

Got something to say?
