I just get wet in my Inov8 X-talons with normal running socks. As Tarahumara says above, my feet also stay wet in their own little puddles.

When running in water your feet get wet. :-) MAN UP! :-)

BUT it has to be a Trail/Fell type shoe over a road shoe ANY DAY.

I did my first Marathon which was all off road and VERY wet. (trust me you don't get much wetter then running in the Sea) in NB Trail shoes and cheap Decatalon socks, pleased to report that I did not have a single blister when I finished. :-)

oi you
Fair comment. Your feet get wet. But the thing I like about waterproof socks is that you finish with CLEAN feet - no scrubbing 'tween the toes for the next few days, and leaving a pile of bits at the bottom of the bed.

I tried a pair of sealskin socks and my feet got wet anyway. I don't think I went that deep in water. I didn't care for them feeling slightly crinkly. Is that just me?

I stick to Hilly Twin Skins and accept that my feet will get wet. Got to have shoes that allow the water out. :-)

So you don't need to walk from the front door to the shower with plastic bags over your feet as the landlord thought white carpets throughout were a good idea?

You could, I dunno, wipe them?

Either a merino sock in a normal fell shoes, wel draining and merino keeps your feet warm when wet, or use these with a thin merino sock underneath:

They come up a little small and not much stretch in them, so order a size larger than you normally would...

Didn't know you could get Merino socks - where from? I LOVE my merino wool top and if the socks are even half as cosy.....
