I've been having odd symptoms over the past three or four weeks - inability to run properly without frequent walks, being seriously out of breath at very slow speeds and odd dizzy/hot/slightly breathless spells lasting a couple of minutes when doing normal stuff like washing up, walking upstairs. Shoved my HRM on this morning for the first time in weeks and my resting heart rate is 85 (normally 48) and on my run it was at least 20bpm above where it normally is for the pace/elevation/effort. Could the symptoms and HR be related? |

You need to get to the GP pronto with those symptoms. Let us know how you get on. Ask for an urgent appointment not a routine one.

I am not a doctor so I don't know, but I would also go and see my GP on what you are describing above too... you certainly would not be wasting their time

Could be many things, including as you suggest heart related. Or possible anaemia?

With your Feb and Mar mileage total being the biggest two months combined you've logged, possibility of "overtraining syndrome"? As others say - no doc is going to turn you down for your appointment with that sort of info!

Thank you. I have taken your advice and rung the GP surgery and the receptionist said to come in at 11:55.
