My favourite phrase is 'nothing is as simple as it seems'. Every time I go to do a 5 minute job it takes me far, far longer. Today's example. Just put the barbecue away in the shed (yes I know this should have been done ages ago!). How difficult could it be? Well it started with me not getting into the shed. Apparently the combination lock didn’t like the recent spell of rain and cold. I needed WD40 and a pair of pliers to fix that. Then there was the fact that the hole that the BBQ fits in have been filled by various pieces of cr@p. Which then led to sort out the shed which ends up taking an hour. 5 minutes, my ar$e.

Just taking a chill pill...

Anything involving trying to fix something on my bike, especially if it involves the brakes.

Yesterday I had a 5 minute job to hang some curtains in son number 3's bedroom in his newly rented apartment whilst he was out. The pole was there so I buy eyelet curtains, get on a chair to fit them and as soon as I move the pole slightly it falls out and the other bracket on the other side is cracked due to 'excessive screwing'. Lucky I had a tool bag in the van. 30 minutes later, some bad language and sweating I managed to sort it out. Typical 5 minute job.

With you there Dvorak, bike brakes are the most impossible things ever.
