All Coastal Runners heading up north - the Tyne Tunnel will be closed the entire weekend of the 11th and 12th of July. So anyone venturing north will need to avoid it and find a route over the top of the Tyne, not under it.
That was a fetchie service announcement

Anyone running this in about 2hrs15mins? I hope to get a lift to the race with another Fetchie:-) If the furthest I have done/will do in training is 11miles: will I manage this course??

NRGEE - I ran my first half marathon on a max of 11 miles in training, and it was fine - the adrenaline should carry you through the last few miles. I know this is a tad further, and probably a bit more 'interesting' than most half courses, but if you take it easy you should be fine. I haven't done this before, and I'm really looking forward to it - I would estimate that I will be running it in roughly that sort of time as well

Thanks Schnecke I have run this run before and loved it. The scenery is outstanding. I love the bit where you run passed Dunstanbrough (sp?) castle. I have run it one year when the tide was coming in and the last half mile was thigh deep in water!! It's not a run for fast times. There was one part I remember that was across some algae covered rocks too:-0

OOO-er! Certainly sounds very 'interesting'!!! Sounds like I might need my flippers, or possibly waders ... I'm planning on bimbling along and enjoying the view (assuming we can actually see the view) without bothering about how long it takes me - mind you, if the tide's coming in, that might provide an incentive to speed up, I suppose

I think the forecast for the tide is OK!! You get your feet wet within the first hundred yards where there is a water jump thing(if my mind serves me right!) Wear old trainers 'cos they are completely ruined during this run!! I know runners that take it easy and stop at Craster for an Icecream en route!!
