I really don't like how the Hilton thing is panning out. I wouldn't mind unlimited coffee and those little shortbreads they used to give out. One mini danish is fine as well - I just want my huge coffee (I am someone who *always* orders a venti - AKA supersize - in Starbucks!).
I was thinking though - the Starbucks in town is within walking distance and worked well at Christmas - and we have to walk past Pete Williams' (NHTT regular) running shop to get there. Would this be a viable alternative?

I think it's a good idea. You can get a big coffee at starbucks for what, £2? £4 for a cup of coffee and a small danish is getting a bit steep.

It's about half a mile, Ruth. Not really that much further than Starbucks - there's even a car park near the shopping centre.
Starbucks coffee is a lot nicer :¬)
