Jock - that was Sophie Morris. She's only ranked third in the UK over 5k this year. I'm pleased my course record went to someone so good.

I've just posted the report on the NHTT website so you can read all about her now :o)

Gobi - I do CBTT which is flat.

Che - splits are always the same - target pace or faster for the first two, slower on 3 & 4 then fast again for 5.

you have spotted the flaw yourself "target pace or faster"

I would suggest you are going too fast so either

A. try running at target pace rather than faster than

B. lower your expectations and just run slower

Mr. K.
Hi,

Totally enjoyed it today & was impressed on how professional it was & the numbers of runners who ran.

Sorry about not making to the drinks afterwards hopefully next time

I was the guy in adidas Kanadia (yellow/black/red) trainers, long legs & hat & gloves.

I will see you again but not next week...

Enjoyed it again, even though I'm disappointed with the times I'm running. Can anyone recommend some strength training sessions to stop my upper legs flooding with pain everytime I venture up an incline.

Sorry I didn't introduce myself, couldn't find the right opportunity to do so. Did speak to Sophie Morris before the run as she wanted to know the route of the course. I had know idea she was a high class atlete.

I'll be back again next week and will hope some of my recent training will begin to take effect.

if you talk to me at the TT I can explain in detail what sort of training you should do rather than explain it here.

I had quite a chat with Sophie after the race myself. She seemed very pleasant and it was nice to hear that like the rest of us she can be made to run too hard. She was suppose to run 17.15 but because I was there she decided to run with me which took her above threshold. More impressive was that she then went off and did 60 second repeats for another lap of the course.

Top running I say :¬)
