Anj, As Snaps said, the Sweatshop has always "helped" parkrun (they provide the monthly prize at all the parkruns, for example). However, as I understand it, it's merely the staff at Sweatshop (who are all excellent runners - hence why they were keen to start their own parkrun).

We were asked to help start it, but we don't have time given our involvement with Basingstoke.

OK, will it will be interesting to see where they look to run it. As it's more local I hope to get there more regularly when it starts up

I understand it's going to be at Thames Valley Park (http://www.thamesvalleypark.co.uk/).

Maybe Microsoft and Oracle could join in and provide laptops and software?

The original (and best) is, of course, Basingstoke :¬)

will be good to see how the Reading one turns out. i don;t know if Oracle would help out though, given that they stopped running the O2O 10k....

I just wonder where runners will go for coffee afterwards!

All very interesting. Can any of you Basingtoke/Reading locals help me out with two questions?

1: If I did NHTT and it took me about 25 minutes, are the queues afterwards short enough that I could jog down to Queen Mary's College by about 9:40?

2: If this Reading one does turn out to be at Thames Valley Park, is there a nicer route from Caversham that just going over Reading bridge and then along the main road? Does the Thames path go along the south side of the river for that bit?
