The GNBR is quite flat, there is a small incline at Dunstanburgh buth that's really all. So long as you are comfortable on your bike and can ride 50+ miles, you have plenty of time to get ready for this. The transport can be a bit unorganised, especially bike transport but other than that it's a smooth running event, quite relaxed and good fun

the distance of either event isnt worrying me its the amount of other cyclists around you. its easy to avoid or pass someone in a running race but a bit different on a bike

It won't be too bad on GNBR, you will be set off in groups of no more than about 20, I went off in a group of 3 and I was never boxed in along the way

you'll be fine. If you want some company on the bike, just drop me a mail and I'll happily come over for a ride with you sometime

I've been considering the 104 mile route, but I'm not sure yet though as I haven't been outside on the bike for months

Never heard of the cyclone , ill take a look. I'm going to join el bee for a jaunt around the 104 mile Fred Whitton route in May if anyone fancies coming along . The daft bugger is going to cycle 10 in 10 days . Crazy dude

I've not been on the bike much since i got it . the weather stopped me a fair bit as i suppose it has us all so I'm looking forward to some practice. I' can't seem to get used to the gears on it but it will come. I'm leaving the cyclo cross tyres on till the spring as well so hopefully i will see the difference when i change. I also intend joining Sunderland tri fro there Wednesday night 12 Mile TT. I've only done one before with Durham tri but loved it. Oh and if anyone knows of peeps who also want to do a bit of open water in the sea let me know.
