It was scorchio at the Bridges of the Tyne last night. Great to see some familiar faces there. Pleased to get a PB in the heat - although last year I was just back from injury. Love this race - will definitely be back next year.

Very busy on the quayside last night - had to change plan and run up and down, herding the public off the course! Saw loads of familiar faces but didn't have time to speak to everyone unfortunately.
*Today* it's dull and much better running conditions. Plus there'll be less folks on the course, so let's do it all again - 7:15pm, tonight! ;-)

I remember when I was at Derwentside I wanted to do Hellhole but I marshalled instead, my nephew came with me he was only little then and loved it cheering the runners on. He's a bit bigger these days (I feel old now)

Might well sign up once I get my hols sorted out as its looking like mid-late September at the moment.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Scribbler, almost everyone else has terrified me, Flip & Lisrun excepted :)

I saw you last night Rob and did think you weren't going your usual race speed - that explains it :)

Race organisers just got back to me re my query on chip V gun times for prize giving - said sorry for confusion their pre race briefing gave and they should have mentioned that prizes would be gun not chip - still quite annoyed about it all as I feel quite cheated. Am I getting confused or are chip times generally used for prizes in chip timed races (apart from the top 10 say which are always done on gun/finish line position)

Jovi, prizes are normally awarded according to Gun times. I've seen many web pages saying that that is what the UK Athletics rules are for road races that are licensed by UKA. For example, have a look at the section labelled "Gun Time / Chip Time Defined" at the bottom of sportsystems.co.uk However, I didn't see this rule when I had a quick glance at the "Rules of Competition".
