Its also my least favourite marathon I have ever done and swore never to do again. I know everyone likes different things but the route was awful - it was constantly up and down short inclines - no recovery as the only flat seciton was the bit across the dam - it was also one of the few bits were you could actually see any scenery. This is the only race I;ve almost DNf'd at when I considered stopping because I was hating it rather than having to DNF because I was injured. I can see why that guy was tempted to get on the bus at 18 miles!

Jovi Runner Feb 2013 11:05pm, 26 Feb 2013 1,998 posts	Quote Pin Jovi Runner If the 10K is around Bull Crag then arguably it is a bit better route as that is at the end of the marathon course and it is a little more scenic as you can see the reservoir at that point. I love hills but it was the fact that they weren't so much hills but short sharp ups and downs ala a roller coaster stylee that made it so unenjoyable. We had a club trip and all five of us who ran didn't enjoy it. That said, I know Lisrun enjoyed it when he did it as part of the North East Marathon club event so maybe you might enjoy it but as Steve Redgrave said about rowing - if you ever see me considering doing it again, shoot me!
