Go Gateshead Parkrun!, I should be volunteering at my local parkrun this weekend.

Yeh GG, its ace having one so close to where I live.

Scribbler, I believe we haven't had the pleasure of your company at Gateshead? (and a few other NE fetchies I could mention!)
You guys are missing an amazing Parkrun..its less crowded than most, and Saltwell park is a wonderful park to run in.

You're right monsenb1, I haven't been to Gateshead yet and will try to put that right before the end of the year. I also want to see how they're doing at Riverside. We're so lucky to have a good choice of local parkruns.

Oh I feel so guilty now I fully intended to do Gateshead's 1st run but I was (as ever) injured and wasn't running. I would like to get there & also Durham this year and yeah loads of choice Whitley Bay & rendezvous cake mmmmm

I ran Whitley Bay parkrun a couple of weeks ago whilst visitng my parents - really enjoyed it. My home parkrun (Harrogate)
is mainly grass so it was nice to have a blast on a fully tarmac course to compare times!

I'm running Riverside on Saturday. I went to the first Gateshead parkrun. It's a great course. Not likely a pb-tastic one but a good 'un all the same :-)

If I manage to get out of bed in time I'll see you there although it definitely won't be a PB as running there and back as a long run. Hope it cools down before then, todays run was a disaster

what's the fastest NE parkrun course? in Nyorkshire/cleveland & durham i'm told it's albert park, middlesbrough which i've run. it's a slight nett downhill which is a beautiful thing but is loops which i dislike. any comments appreciated.

My PB is from Newcastle but you need a non windy day and they are rare. Haven't run Albert Park so can't compare it to that unfortunately
