I've just used the post race survey form to give the council my thoughts on supporting a parkrun in Whitley Bay. Still need to write them and the News Guardian a letter.

Good call TS. Any comments? The start is always slightly congested and some time can be lost here. I would also like to voice my concerns that the council are missing a trick by being apparently obstructive towards a parkrun in Whitley Bay. There are active parkruns in Newcastle, Sunderland, Gateshead, Durham, Boro, Sedgefield etc etc which are allowing people to exercise for free and also building local communities. Please take the time to view the numerous Facebook pages for these runs and threads across running forums to see exactly how beneficial a parkrun can be to a local area. Thanks. |

Those of you that entered this year's Blaydon race and have had your cheque cashed - have you heard anything from the organisers? It can't be long before race packs are available to collect

SusieSue, race packs are available from Start Fitness now. I got an email a few weeks ago. It may have gone in your spam filter.

The web page blaydonrace.org has some info about getting your number for the Blaydon Race. It says: Numbers for successful entries may be collected from Start Fitness, Pilgrim Street, Newcastle between 21st April and 13th May, those not collected by 13th May will be posted. Rejection letters for unsuccessful applicants will be posted about 13th April.
