yeah the last time i did it the start was in the field at tanfield. busy weekend for me, xc saturday and hellhole sunday

Can't help noticing there's been a bit of rain today and I've been warned it's clarty. So is the Hellhole 10k still road shoeable?

It was a bit slippy in road shoes last year. The majority of the race is on tarmac though so I'll be wearing road shoes again.

They've been out marking the route tonight & apparently it's a bit damp! Which will of course just make it more fun :-)

Thanks guys. Guess I'll just take my time on the sloppy bits. I had visions of it being like the cross country. Maybe it's time I got some trail shoes.

Thanks guys. I loved that! Road shoes did me fine for most of the route, just one very slippery patch after coming up out of the wood that I had to walk because it was too slidy to run. And MeLAR they changed the route this year, so the hill at the end wasn't so big. But a great race. Big thanks to LisaT for taking me round those lovely woods all that time ago and convincing me that trail running wasn't so bad!

Glad you enjoyed it Scribbs! Well done to all! A big well done too to northerrunner for his 4th place & scrappy for her 1st female (11th overall i think).

Off now for a pootle in hellhole woods just for fun :-)

Yes, MeLAR, you know you want to!! We took out the evil hill at the end & replaced it with an equally evil hill in the middle. You can't say we're not generous! Well done to everyone who ran today, it was great to see lots of fetchies :-)
