i was recently on a holiday in Albania and really hoping to see some dark skies. But on the two nights we were far from city lights it was cloudy, which was a real shame. but last weekend I was camping near Eastbourne and the number of stars you could see at night - compared to the outskirts of London - was amazing. I always hate having to get up and go to the loo in the middle of the night when camping, but the reward of the sky view made it worthwhile! |

South Downs national park prides itself on its dark skies and you can find a map on their website of where it is darkest.
