The new Newbury parkrun is set to start on 11 February 2011. It's going to be on Greenham Common (the old USAF base) so it will be (largely) flat and promises to be a pretty fast course. There is also a great coffee shop who've agreed to open especially for parkrunners for afterwards. I've helped set up other parkruns before, but this is the first time I've actually sold my soul to become an Event Director... The official parkrun website is due to be finished this week, but I've set up a Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/newburyparkrun) where you can get updates - so make sure you come along and "Like" it. I'd love to get as many people as possible to the inaugural event - the most people ever to attend a new parkrun?! |
