I've entered on a GFA place so able to sort bookings early - Flights + hotel in Manhattan for £1,600-odd for 1 week for 2. Hotel was through Hotels.com which is an Expedia subsidiary I think.
Only snag was having to pay in full up front but as I'm probably likely to do this once might as well make the most of it.

Got into this one as well. Looking forward to it. Seems to very expensive. Looking for any advice on accomodation etc. Going on my own so not looking anything fancy, just somewhere that is in decent location and safe. Thanks

Not long now til us poor lottery folks learn our fate :-)

Please cross your fingers for another rejection as I'd really rather go next year tbh.

I can't help thinking that London would be nowhere near as oversubscribed if people were charged for applying for the lottery.

I did it in 2007, and I do think it's worth it. It's the best race I've ever done, purely for the crowd support. I got a charity place, which effectively meant paying for the flights through the associated travel company, but I saved a lot of money by getting an apartment for the week (with other runners and friends). We stayed in mid town.

Incidentally, 7 of us applied for the ballot that year. None of us got in.
