Well said Pudds. I unfortunately didn't get to NY. Flights cancelled a couple of times and by the time my flight was rearranged I was aware that the Marathon was going to be cancelled. So decided not to go. I think you are absolutely correct that the handling of the whole situation was poor. I'm not complaining even though I lost money, there were people who lost their lives and homes. What I have agreed to do for my charity is run a race called 'Joe's Not the New York Marathon' on Sunday 02-12-2012 in order that my charity can still collect the sponsorship which both them and me worked hard to raise. There's always next year for me. |
