For My Light
What is the general opinion on using 'new' trainers for marathon. Is it good idea and how many miles to make sure they have been `bedded in'

50 is the lowest number i have read as being the minimum, last year i had 200+ miles in mine before and they felt so comfortable.

How many miles do you usually get out of a pair of shoes?

I've ran in a pair straight out of the box before and nothing happened. I had worn a version of them before so I knew I got on with them.

Should be okay then. I only get 300 max out of a pair of shoes so 250 would be pushing it for me but you've got plenty of life left in them!

It's a big risk despite Keefy's experience. I have heard many horror stories of new shoes in marathon's. I would stick with your old ones.

If it is the exact same model you have used before then I would say a minimum of 4 or 5 runs with at least a 10 miler
If a slighty diff model eg wave rider 7 rather than waver rider 6 then I would ideally want to do a 15 miler in them to make sure

I break them in then wear them 50 miles or so for a target race. Other races I just wear whatever.
Some shoes dont need breaking in, but mine do.
