Would a 25 year old have really read the famous five books as a kid? I’m also not sure a 22 year old would know a pop song from the early 90s, although I suppose he is a DJ. |

I read the books (my original hardback copies from my childhood) to my two when they were pretty small. We still think OH bears more than a passing resemblance to Uncle Quentin

They were horribly outdated when I read one in the late 80s. Maybe they’ve been edited for modern audiences

I read the Famous Five books (and many other Blyton, not to mention most of Nesbit) as a child. I would never have imposed that shite on any on of my children.
