Is there some place where you can go to get your bike set up checked?

I did do the hilly 20K cycle at Emberton quicker than the flat 20K at Dorney with the cleats, but lots of bits hurt:

bum - brother said proper cyclists don't have huge gel seats that look like used nappies on top of their saddles - he said I had to 'man up' when I whined
hands - am I leaning forwards too much, or worse still, is the frame too big?
L. knee inside - ?

Feet were very cold too... I had no feeling in them by the end

I'm sure there will be a bike expert along presently to answer you but the information I was given:

get a pair of cycling shorts (they have a built in nappy!)
you should be able to put you feet flat on the ground and have the tube sitting under your crutch - if you have to be on tiptoes the frame's too big
get a pair of overshoes (especially for winter)
