Been running since 2008. I've lost a bit of weight since starting running (I was 115 in 2008/9, then dropped quite a bit before coming back up to current weight) but my weight has been pretty stable for about five months. I'm vegetarian (eat fish) and have been for around 20yrs, otherwise I think I eat okay.

Considering how (relatively) small mileage you do per month, your times are REALLY impressive

myabe you just need rest!

Could be a lack of calories causing recovery problems. Sorry as I know the last thing any runner wants to hear is to eat more, but its likely if you do it sensibly (say 100-200 cals extra a day) then you shouldnt put on any weight. Also meat is important for runners so you may need to have a full blood screen at the gp in order to check you aren't short of something in particular (low iron levels can affect recovery).

And you're under BMI 18.5 which although not a problem in itself could mean your body is asking for more of a rest - one possible solution if you dont do it already is to break some of you easy runs into doubles of shorter duration as this will allow you to run more miles in total (but doesnt replicate endurance benefit of the longer runs so bear that in mind too).

You wont have to stop running but you might need to make a few changes -your gp can help you go though the options.

Being told to eat more is the first thing I want to hear!

In general you should slow down, have an easy couple of weeks, cross train if you need to do something then see how it goes.
Does it hurt during exercise? Or just after?

hmm, about to do 5 races in 5 days... will be lower overall mileage though as no LSR this weekend. Training for Berlin marathon so reluctant to reduce miles :( If I were to increase calories would it be okay to just add more fruit. I like fruit :)
