She moved (along with her cats) two or three weeks ago, and first thing this morning I noticed sparrows darting in and out of the hedge at the bottom of the garden, and then when I just went to make a drink there was a bullfinch on our patio furniture I must dig out our abandoned bird feeders and stock up...

Sparrows back nesting after 2 cat induced barren years :-). Peas doing well, beans too, Brassicas potted on, courgettes coming on, fruit trees smashed by late frosts and cold rain.

Mostly he eats them. Thankfully he rarely gets birds. But he’s the only cat in a fairly big area (we are surrounded by fields) so his impact on the wildlife population isn’t that big really, anyway better him being here than in an urban area.
