As we don’t have much spare room for growing veg, we’re planning to grow potatoes in bags this year. Does anyone have any experience or tips that they could pass on please?

Rosehip
only put one or two seed spuds in the bag and keep watering them
I grew 10 bags worth last year - they were OK, but not as productive as in the ground has been in the past - but that might just have been the year/weather/seed spud used, etc

really good way to get lovely tasty new potatoes, I've not used them for maincrop - might try a few this yr.

Thanks RH. I think the plan is to grow just new/salad potatoes as we rarely eat large varieties.

My experience, on a couple of attempts, was disappointing.

In one sense garlic is easy to grow, - stick it in, and it will come up. But not so easy if you want to harvest a good big bulb, as that requires a long warm summer, which you may or may not get.

Interesting...I've never tried garlic or onions.
