Top notch organisation and quite a pretty route, thoughI hope its a LONG time before I see a hump back bridge or underpass again
LOVED the stadium finish

Well done everyone, you did really well in that heat - it was warm just watching. Roped into doing a bit of marshaling at just after 10k when you had to run off the red path, onto the road and left at the roundabout. Didn't want anyone to fall on the kerb edge!!

Hope we gave you all a cheer

Well done CurlyK in her debut mara

Way too hot, but how I handled and prepared for it was my fault. Will be avoiding foot bridges and underpasses for a while, but on the whole the route was fine, the organisation smooth, the stadium as a venue is inspired and I'll definitely be back. Missed my target 3:45 but scraped under 4 - no thanks to a as-it-turns-out stupid first half.

Ho-hum.

Negative splits are really rare, even for the most accomplished elite runners. I read an article on the subject recently.

Anyone who ran one yesterday basically caught a bus.

There were a couple of girls on rollerblades coming towards me in one of the underpasses. Never been more tempted to mug someone in all my life...

Mixed thoughts from myself on this one. Very well organised, disappointed with my time....didn't like the dual carriage way parts, but loved the paths, parks etc. Partly due to heat, tiredness, tripping AGAIN, more undulations than expected and just general "blahs" it wasn't an enjoyable day for me, but that's not to say I wont return next year :)
