I hope there's a suitably inflated premium price tag attached.

I preferred the other Flodden event, where the Coldstream Reiver takes a ride out to Flodden followed by a church service.

More thoughtful.

Maybe it's just me.............

That was a couple of weeks ago, and this year involved 460 riders, so slightly less understated than normal. But, yes, the price tag is in keeping with other events like this where you think "or I could just plod round the fields for free...".

I don't think I really want to re-enact Flodden :-(

Which side are you on? Um ... yeah. I don't think I want to have to make that decision. Or to hand over a hefty sum to do a novelty-themed mudbath event in the dark, which probably means I should wield my inflatable claymore for Scotland :P

Being a slow runner, if I want one side to win, I'd be more helpful joining the other side.

I won't be doing this.

There are also statistical problems with using the mean (average) time to declare a winning team, because the mean will be unduly weighted by outliers.

Median would be a better option.

Got something to say?
