None of you need to come off HRT. Ever.

Thanks Hipps. The doctor I went to see said that she was on HRT and they would have to prise it from her cold dead hands.

Well, applied my first dose of Oestrogel this evening. I'm afraid it made me giggle, I thought of Vic Reeves rubbing his thighs.

Telephone interview with dr who pulled up the hrt template and said as I’d bled within the last few months he’d recommend oestrogen patches (reduced risk of blood clots compared to oral tablets) and utrogestan tablets in the latter part of cycle. He doesn’t pretend any particular specialist knowledge and I like him for it. Anyone better read than me have any comments for or against?

I liked the patches but they do sometimes come off. I only stopped because of supply issues.

Not menopause related, but you are my go to people for this kind of thing.
I’ve had an allergic reaction to something this week ( I think insect repellent or sun screen) and had itchy blotches all over my face, neck snd arms. I’ve managed to reduce it with anti- histamine but now the skin on my face is very dry, red and flaky.
Am I best to just moisturise (E45) or should I try something to gently remove the dead skin, like a scrub?
I really don’t do cosmetics or skin care, mostly because I used to react to too much when I was younger. Last time I had a breakout like this was 4 years ago.

I'd be tempted to slather on something soothing like cold cream - old fashioned but effective x

I'd advise avoiding exfoliants and just using lots of emollient. A spot of weak steroid ointment may help if you have some available.
