Ignoring the obvious choices ("I was out running and the Prime Minister's car passed me", "The run where I tore my calf", etc) are there any training runs that stick in your mind as key events in your running history?

I was just glancing through my history of logs and came across this one - - towards the end of a HM training plan for my third HM, and got the dawning realisation that sub-90 was an outside possibility, a milestone that I'd previously have laughed at as being unachievable.

I can visualise nearly all of the run despite it being over 4.5 years ago, it's clearly cemented in my mind as a watershed.

When did you have a run where something changed in your view of your own running?

One evening I said "I'm just going to run up the shop ...". And did, literally, run up to the shop. Actually it was more of a run walk as it was the night which lead to me beginning the C25k programming, sticking with running and, eventually, ending up here :-)

Angus Clydesdale
December 2011 and I ran 6 miles through Hurricane Bawbag to go and collect MrsC's car from outside her work.

Never run in such weather, neither before nor since. I was exhiliarated. :)
