Does anyone have any ideas on the definition of a 'long run' versus a 'medium long run' ?

It's all relative. I guess most runners would say something like up to 5 or 6 miles is short, 5 or 6 to say 12 is medium and anything over 12 might be long. 'Medium long' would then be say 8 to 10 miles

If training for a marathon it's 17 and up for long and 11 for medium. Anyone who says anything else can go to hell. |

My P&D schedule has "Medium Long" up to 15. But I suppose there is no clear difference.
