LOL I was reading OC as recommending Hammerite as a garnish. Surely it's a reduction - I saw it for half price down at B&Q.

(I'm here all week.)

Jus - (usually) sauce for meat made from the juices of the cooked meat itself, but reduced, not thickened (ie not gravy). But you can have fruit jus. And ju jus. And moo moos and the screaming ab dabs.
Veloute - white sauce made with stock and not milk. Can be served as a soup. Or forzen and crushed in a granita. I made a cider veloute the other day. I say 'made'....
Foam - whisked sauce. Utterly pointless except for decoration. See also lavender, old ladies, old ladies who smell of lavender, old lavender, and ice cream flavoured with either old ladies or lavender. Foam is best served on half-naked teenagers in Ibiza. While you're in a nice gastropub hundreds of miles away that serves a lot of flavour on a plate, but without the gurning turnip and shoulder-thumping hawk.

I've been away, and it's the first programme I've had to avoid all coverage of since that repeat of the Likely Lads avoiding the score of the footie while waiting for Match of the day.

While the editing and Constant. Fepping. Repetition. Of. The. Facts. drove me to distraction, I had to admire the way Daniel (Mr Intensity) didn't punch anyone, Marianne didn't finally dissolve in a puddle of her own frowny face (why are you doing this = to piss my ex-boyfriend of, was the best answer of any of them) and Steve grinned his way to delviering application with his talent. Oh, and the boy could obviously count as well. I did wonder about those macaroni towers.

Ok. Enough. Work. I mean 'enough, to work'. But first a cup of tea. THERE'S A LOT OF FLAVOUR IN THAT TEA. I'd lick my own forehead clean.

LOL. Thanks Monki.

I almost proper vommed at the thought of old-lady-flavoured ice cream. I wonder what that would taste like...An aromatic blend of discarded Ferrero Rocher wrappers, lavender, talc and wee, no doubt ;)
