I thought it was already clear that pre 1/1/19 GFA times would not be usable and you woudl need a post 1/1/9 time for 2021

Welcome to the forums Chris!
I think I read that you can’t do it on a treadmill. You may need to use their app as proof, although how they know you’re running not taking a gentle pootle round on a bike I don’t know. Can’t see their app doing heart rate but it may record cadence.

I would also guess they will need some evidence from other races. Not necessarily quite as fast but at least in ball park

It definitely says that treadmills are not allowed. No further details on the supplementary evidence that I've seen - I'm guessing they probably haven't quite worked it out yet.

Pre 1/1/19 times don't count.
But they will only accept virtual runs done on 4/10/20 on uncertified, unprovable, probably cycleable or get your mates to run a relay for you routes. According to the 2020 FAQ they will not accept runs done in another certified event since 1/1/19, only the virtual run.

That's really odd, Spideog. Makes a nonsense of it!

What - so not even for their own 2019 event?

Thanks @Pothunter!
would be so nice to get some clarification before the registration deadline- but realise that's not going to happen (full rules to be announced on 31st aug?). Carrying a phone = annoying as hell. I'd be ok to provide HR data - but that's surely not feasible/fair to ask for. Cadence data - same (old watches for instance). I'd be on a track for sure if i thought i could get away with that hah!

I wonder if they'll reopen the GFA and Championship entries for 2021 after the virtual 2020 race? They say they'll have a limited ballot, and a number of both GFA and Championship entries for this year will have used 2018 times, so if those places are then free surely it means people who have times since then could enter? So maybe people in the situation of having used 2018 times, but having 2019 times, could then re-enter using those?
