They're having a laugh aren't they - pay £20 for a medal and a t-shirt we have already bought and paid for? Taking virtual race times as qualifying for GFA etc?

Taking virtual race for GFA or champs is only allowed for those already GFA or champs that lapses as 2018 time. I have a GFA from 2019 but seems to read that I could in theory cycle a route, record it & then upgrade to champs start? Surely it’s wide open to abuse?

Little Miss Happy - I’d missed the bit about paying another £20 - I thought you just had to upload a time. What a rip off.

The email is definitely clearer than the first announcement 😂
I'm glad I sat on my hands and didn't jump at the first deferral. I'll probably wait until it's back in April in '22 or '23

Interesting answer on GFA
I have a Good for Age or Championship place If your time was run in a qualifying event after 1 January 2019, and you want to run in 2021, you will be offered a place in the 2021 event taking place on 3 October 2021 when we email you on 1 September.
If you ran the qualifying time before 1 January 2019, and you run the qualifying time in the virtual 2020 Virgin Money London Marathon, you will also be offered a guaranteed place in the 2021 event.
Runners who qualified for the 2020 event with a time achieved before 1 January 2019, but who do not achieve a qualifying time again in 2021 or 2022, will be offered a guaranteed place in the 2023 event. Please note this guaranteed place will not be on a Good for Age start or the Championship start.
If you do not wish to defer your entry, you will be offered a refund when we email you on 1 September.

😂 I actually hadn't thought of how the virtual times could be abused, but crikey, there are loads of ways someone could get a much better time recorded. It'll be interesting to see how they will get round that. I won't be doing the virtual London anyway, it just doesn't seem appealing

im undecided about the virtual event. I would do it if i thought the tshirt would fit (last years is way to big despite being the smallest size and they have the same brand again). I know, Im shallow

Fizz :-)
That only applies to GFA runners who qualified before 1 Jan 2019, so not that many I would have thought? Interesting though.
