Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The organisers are due to make an announcement on 28 July. With Brighton taking place two weeks before London, a decision could be sooner as they are in regular discussions with each other.

"In a world where the situation is changing on an almost daily basis, the team at London Marathon Events is working hard on a range of options for the event. Following the government announcement yesterday that mass participation outdoor events can restart later this month with appropriate social distancing, we are now awaiting the exact details of those guidelines."

I'm just assuming it isn't going to happen in any form that I want to participate in, if I hear differently it will be a pleasant surprise.

'Following the government announcement yesterday that mass participation outdoor events can restart later this month with appropriate social distancing,' wasn't the announcement referring to team sport rather than a mass participation event with uncontrollable spectator numbers?

The proposed guidance appears to rule out all but a few team sports and events - for the time being at least. gov.uk

DocM - I think they are being very economical with the definition of socially distanced team sport and open-air events :)
