Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sorry EP I believe you’re supposed to run it, not ride it :-)

Happy tapering everyone!

Mmm, can't start til 10am so it's gonna be warm by the middle /end.

Or, start at 5pm, running into the night, cooler but rain!

That's just not nice funkyPOM - I'll happily swap you our cold, wet and windy.

Given how much rain we've had overnight and today's forecast I may have to rethink my route and avoid the trails too.

Decided to stay local, close to home, 5-10k at a time so can hydrate properly. No route planned as such, just a general idea that is flexible depending on how it's going

Been think about the FAQ about the app.

virginmoneylondonmarathon.com

Why do I need to use the app?

The Official Virgin Money London Marathon App powered by TCS will track your 26.2 miles and enhance your Marathon Day experience thanks to its unique in-app audio experience.

What a load of b*!!*€%$

Run to get away from Paula and Cram. You can see who their target audience is (joggers - joke but you get my point 😉).

Yep I’m now 95% roads

I can live with wet I just hope it’s not wet and windy as my road route has a few exposed bits

Plenty of hedges though for when nature calls 😮 and 1 shop for a top up (might treat myself to something too ... wonder if they have a Costa express for a hit chocolate?)

Just had my start time released. Marathon runners mixed in with people just doing a 5 mile event, but I'm at the back of a group of other marathon runners who should all be going about the same pace as me. Should be handy enough to make up the 10 second deficit and gain some shelter from the wind and rain if needed. Or at least the motivation of people to chase.

The forecast in Edinburgh has changed for the better. Low chance of rain (we have it today) and the wind has dropped.

Weather forecast for Manchester also much better. Might avoid rain altogether. Phew!
