v-rap I said I liked the idea not that I would ever do it! It would be OK in an Equinox style event but not at home and alone

Not that I was planning to wear it, but I haven’t received a number in the post - I assume I don’t actually need it for the purposes of logging my time?

Nope, zero need for wearing the numbers.
Only benefit I can think of is that pedestrians might give you a bit of space as you run around your cities streets on Sunday morning with a desperate look on your face as you approach a narrow gap. You might also get a "well done" from them or other runners.
Otherwise, completely unnecessary.

....or if other runners are wearing them, there may be that bit of camaraderie if they cross paths when doing their run. But I won't be wearing my numbers.

I'll not wear mine for my actual race, but may put them on afterwards to go along and support some other club members finishing their runs off in a non race.

I wasn’t going to wear my number but the other three people wanted to wear them so I thought I’d go with the majority.

I'll probably wear one on my front and keep the other one. I doubt that any other runners will wander on to my route, but if people in the town have seen the TV coverage they might realise what I'm up to and give me a heckle or two.

Had assumed it was VLM doing due dilligence by prompting people to have ICE details on them via the race number?
I am still largely immobile and very ouchy after sitting funny this morning and pinching something in my back ffs

I'm officially out. Physio says no running for at least 6 weeks. Not ITB as I thought but still something going on in my hip where the quadriceps joins the hip.
Will be cheering everyone on from the comfort of the couch
