I've changed my route again
think I will go down the canal - nice and flat!
Plus I will see the boats and possibly people and the Market Bosworth steam train

Just popping in to wish all those running/racing the virtual London Marathon good luck, it will be a unique London Marathon experience that's for sure.

Have they said how they are taking the GFA time attempts yet? I'm intrigued to see how it's going to happen

Still no word on what additional requirements or evidence they are going to look for from GFA/ Championship runners which they had hinted as being required several times previously in response to queries about how they would prevent relays, or bikes being used or discrepancies in distance run between people running together for the time.

There will be a few thousand people who need a time to retain their places for GFA and Championship, but can't really guess what number of those have entered the virtual event and are making an attempt at running a time. There will be a lot of those that are running who will have issues with the so far non-existant app and/ or their Garmins though.

5 days out and silence from them, except for telling us that we should wear a number and post pictures to twitinstabook.

The GFA for 2021 is 5mins quicker for my age (not that I am anywhere near it! I'll be almost twice the time LOL)

Spideog, I can't believe how late they are leaving it to let the runners know what they have to do, as if going for the GFA out of 'race conditions' isn't stressful enough as it is!

Sorry to hear that pot hunter. Hope it eases up.

Spideog, I think we’re both raging about the phone thing & the extra evidence. They’re so unspecific in their language, it feels deliberately obtuse

Pothunter, I hope it's just a taperniggle and goes away quickly luck

(The Facebook group is now full of lamentations about colds and trapped nerves and inflamed this and aching that. It's like being back on Runner's World 15 years ago.)

It’s a bit of a shambles. Feel for all of you who have targets to (possibly!) aim for. Happy to be out of it all for the time being. Though on a day like today I’d love a race of any description!

You have to have a recent qualifying prior half though don't you for GFA? All the column A/column B nonsense?

Anyway that's not me at the moment. I'll go number on as running with club. Unlikely to carry phone unless I wear ultra vest. Even then unlikely to use the app as it said you could use GPX (I think - need to re-read).

Still no news on the app, they really are leaving it until the last minute.
