Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

They really need to pull their finger out with the app if they are sticking to it being a requirement for people to use in order to register their runs. A week to go and it's still "coming soon".

depends if it is a NEED to use
Most virtual events do "supply evidence" so a screen shot from strava/garmin or pic of watch is OK
maybe that's what the number is for ... picture of watch with number!

As I posted a while back, the GNR virtual only launched their app a few days before the event. Perhaps that's the nature of these apps in terms of their use-cases?

Everything I've seen from them so far on their official channels, and via email directly with their help desk, has suggested that the app is a requirement for proof that you completed the run and certainly for the GFA runners.

The only thing that said any different from that was a single comment from Martin Yelling during their Facebook live a week or so ago where he thought there was some way to upload your runs from a Garmin...but considering that he wasn't aware on the week before on Marathon Talk that you needed to register for the virtual event I'd doubt if he fully knew the details so count him currently in the unreliable witness column.

They’ve definitely said on their FB page that using a Garmin will be Ok.
