I havent checked but its possible a qualifiying time will be usable for both October 22 and April 23 Nope, not anymore unfortunately. They had announced changes to the time period for running a qualification time for the 2021 event before the pandemic hit I think, but that just got lost in the subsequent mayhem, but we now just get one year that we can use a time for.

It’s been covered already but for the avoidance of doubt, this from the GFA section on the VLM website: “ Good For Age 2023 qualifying periods The qualifying period for the 2023 London Marathon will begin on 4 October 2021 and end on 7 August 2022.” |

As pointed out, you can't use a London 2022 time to get a GFA for London 2023. However I wonder when the 2024 qualifying period will start? Possibly they will allow a London 2022 time in qualifying for 2024? (or am I just thinking too far ahead now?!)

Anyone know (or is able to find) when the GFA entries open for 2022? I had a bit of a minor panic yesterday as someone said it had closed, but looks like they were thinking of the qualification period.

No mention anywhere of when the GFA application can be made, just the qualification period ended on Sunday. The last few years it has always been open for application from the week after the end of the qualification period, but going back a few more years it tended to be a couple of months after, but the qualification period only went until the beginning of May then. |

Thanks Spideog, happy I've not missed the entry window... Not sure my legs are quite ready to let me make a decision to enter 2022 just yet!

I'm glad they're leaving it a little while, not sure my legs are ready to let me sign up for 2023 just yet! |
