In 2005, Nicholson's reading of the line "You can't handle the truth!" was voted the twenty-ninth greatest American movie quote of all time

I don't remember him being a lumberjack in the movie, though?

"Here's Johny" must have appeared on that list too surely?

Apologies for yet another thread, but I think this might hold a broad level of interest - I think even Mr Fetch may raise his eyebrows a notch or two.

Last Sunday I cycled to church.

My Fetch log, which I trust beyond all possibility of doubt, tells me this:

17.07 miles, 1h19m46s, max speed 30.3mph

Garmin Connect, which one assumes is closest to the raw data, tells me this:

17.07 miles, 1h19m46s, max speec 30.3mph

This makes me very happy.

Now, gentle Fetchies, you may have seen or read or experienced strava recently, and been tempted, as I was, to 'dabble' and see whether it might be fun. strava taking data from the same source (my Garmin EDGE 800) tells me this.

17.1 miles, 1h20m48s, max speed 31.9mph

Interesting, eh?

I can see how the distance might be different (depending on what strava does), but it's hard to see how the time can be so different - how long does it say the activity lasted on the Garmin itself?

I've used a Forerunner for about 18 months now, and the times for my races always match with the official results (barring a second here or there where I've not started or stopped exactly on the line)

I thought "logging activities" might be a discussion regarding cutting trees down.

I sort of agree, Sprouto - the real bafflement comes in the maximum speed. I've checked data from my Edge 500, too:

Yesterday's bimble on the mountain bike (Garmin EDGE 500):

Garmin Connect: 8.36 miles. Time: 53:40 Moving Time: 52:52. Avg Speed: 9.3 mph. Avg Moving Speed: 9.5 mph. Max Speed: 24.0 mph.

STRAVA: 8.4 miles. Moving Time: 54:55. Avg Speed 9.2mph. Max Speed 21.9mph

The maximum speed thing is particularly odd.
