Enough of this Fleet Foxes balderdash! Here are my 2010s selections...

2010 - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Kanye West. Oh no, more bloody hip-hop. Zzz

2011 - El Camino, The Black Keys. Dunno, rocky?

2012 - Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, Kendrick Lamar. If there's a style of music I like less than hip-hop, it's "R&B." In quotations too because, to me, R&B means The Who, Small Faces, stuff like that.

2013 - Modern Vampires Of The City, Vampire Weekend. Dunno, indie-ey?

2014 - Lost In The Dream, The War On Drugs. I've heard a bit of TWOD on t'radio recently, so perhaps they have some new stuff out? I quite liked it, so looking forward to this.

2015 - Currents, Tame Impala. At last, a non-US act.

2016 - Blonde, Frank Ocean. No idea - a cross between Frank Turner and Billy Ocean doing Blondie covers? Probably not. Probably not as interesting as that would be.

2017 - Melodrama, Lorde. I think I saw her at Glasto last year and she was getting a lot of TV on the strength of this album. She seems quite, um, melodramatic so I'm not sure I could stomach a whole album of it.

Right, crank up the gramophone, I'm going in.

Some good ones in there Fitz. :)

Interpol are great and can’t imagine ever wanting to listen to Fleet Foxes ahead of them..

I don't know many on that list Fitz, and the only album I've got is the Black Keys' one. It's pretty good but I much prefer their earlier ones.

I have *finally* blogged my next 2 albums - Lloyd Cole and This Mortal Coil. Then I'll be able to find something for 1987 :-)

Two months since I tackled 2006, and my choice made so little an impression that I can’t even remember what Brand New sounded like. I tried Bon Iver’s ‘For Emma, Forever Ago’ as my 2007 choice. I can’t say that it particularly grabbed my attention, and suspect it’ll shortly be forgotten too.

I've not listened to TranqBase yet. I've never been mad on AM to begin with, and the amount of exposure for their latest effort just seems like monumental hype to me.

So either I'll be underwhelmed and no worse off, or it will be the greatest thing since sliced iced cubes and I'll have to revise my view on AM as just being shouty Sheffield shamblers.
