I have a cycling jacket from Aldi and it seems to be holding up pretty well.

But I do hate going in there. Nothing quite like having your purchases thrown at you by a surley Polish girl who scowls and huffs if you are unable to complete the transaction within 3 seconds.

I've just read back. I've had decent stuff from both Lidl and Aldi. I like the socks , the cycling tops have been fine and a jacket i bought is still going strong a few years later.

The only issue i ever had was with zips but i notice now they are much bigg stronger zips.

I bought a few things from Aldi a while back after someone posted on here - the socks have gone into holes and didn't wash very well; the jacket is great - I've worn it a lot; the thermal base layer stuff seems ok - although my Helly leggings are much warmer; the running tights are ok - not brilliant but fine for the price.

I tried the base layer and the socks today. I'm very impressed with them for the money.

I bought some running socks from lidls a couple of months ago. I think they were £1.99 a pair, which is a bargain. Unfortunately they were 2 pairs of "lefts". I went back the next day to see if any were pairs of "rights" but no luck. For 1.99 I am not going to complain though. They wash well, are comfy, if a tiny bit tight around the ankle.

I once forgot my running shoes and I ran Edinburgh marathon on one of the hottest days of the year in lidl (or aldi ,I forget ) running shoes I'd picked up to knock about in . not a single problem or blister . always makes me wonder if they're much different from the usual fare on offer..

I've tried their cycling kit in the past and it seemed pretty decent to me.

Certainly no issues at the price they are selling it at.

Thanks for the heads up.

Lidl compression wear going back on sale on 13 May. I'm going to go and get a truckload of compression socks.

Has anyone tried their shorts? I usually wear a small, but their sizing only starts at medium...
