Definitely easier than MK DrDan - if you were a student at Leicester then this might mean something to you - the last mile is from Revolution Bar on New Walk to the Union |

Well, it was mid 80s, so I don't think Revolution Bar existed back then ... but I do remember New Walk, though not its undulatingness. I probably spent a bit too much time in the SU.

For those worrying about the condition: “I understand i am required to pick up my running number and timing chip in person the week prior to the race from Phoenix Square, Leicester as these will not be posted out.” I have had a reply from the organisers saying..." "you can pick your pack up on the day at Victoria Park where the race starts so no worries" |

Disappointing news posted on the Leicester Marathon facebook page: "We are extremely sorry to announce that the Chip Timing System did not work. We are busy trying to retrieve certain data to produce some results. We are extremely sorry that this has happened and we are working to get some results published. We hope that this does not spoil your enjoyment of the event." Seems unusual, though it was wet...there were a lot of people reporting that their chip had come off and got lost on route too. |

I saw a chip at the side of the road that had obviously fallen off someone's race number. Didn't pick it up cos they were (obviously) well in front of me! Now it seems it wouldn't have made any difference. Disappointing to have no chip time. |

One of the club was doing his first marathon, to get a GFA, which he did, but will it be verified as standing or not!

I do hope that the times get verified.

So I had a shit run, with a shit time, but it doesn't matter as the organisers had a shit timing system. I feel really great about that
